Watch Face Community
What’s special to you about the watch face community?
The greatest satisfaction I get is when I see customers that enjoy my watch face designs. I am also like to receive feedback from other developers and they motivate me to create new and even better designs.
Why should designers consider developing watch faces?
I love working with the Samsung Gear Designer software. It‘s a very innovative program and I also find it easy to use. I think using this software is a great benefit for the developers in the creation of watch faces and it is something developers must be comfortable with.
What are the common pitfalls you see when designers first start out and how should they avoid them?
When I first started making first watch faces I didn’t focus on the details as much and I think that was a mistake. Over time I realized that details are the most important features that customers look for and appreciate.
If you could a new developer one piece of advice, what would it be?
For an artist, it‘s important to like your occupation and what you do. If someone is only drive is to profit then this is reflected in the design and it often does not meet what customers are looking for and it becomes much harder to be successful with those designs.
Which developers create watch face designs you really like and that inspire you?
Primarily I focus on creating original designs but one developer that I think makes very nice watch face designs is Broda.
